Position: Safeguarding Officer
Location: Abuja (Remote)

OpenFees Educational Aid Foundation (OpenFees) is committed to creating safe environments for children, young people, volunteers, staff and communities we serve.
We are currently seeking a qualified and passionate Safeguarding Officer to strengthen safeguarding practices across our programmes and operations.
Role Summary
The Safeguarding Officer will design and lead the implementation of safeguarding policies, reporting procedures, awareness initiatives and risk mitigation strategies to ensure the protection and wellbeing of children and vulnerable individuals engaged in OpenFees activities.
Key Responsibilities
●Support the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures
●Ensure safeguarding compliance across programmes and field activities
●Conduct safeguarding awareness sessions and trainings
●Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and reports
●Maintain confidential safeguarding records and documentation
●Support risk assessments for projects and community activities
●Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and child protection
Requirements
●Background in social work, psychology, education, law, development studies, or related fields
●Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection principles
●Strong ethical standards and confidentiality practices
●Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
●Experience working with NGOs or community-based programmes is an advantage
●Ability to handle sensitive matters professionally
